January 2008 WIRE founded at a conference in Laguna Beach.
November 2009 WIRE incorporated
as a not-for-profit.
March 2010 WIRE SF launched by merging with the pre- existing WIRE SF.
2011 WIRE London, LA and Boston launched.
About WIRE
WIRE was founded in January of 2008 to provide an inclusive networking organization for women in the private equity real estate industry. Click here for a full list of the women in each region who bring WIRE to the private equity real estate community.
WIRE Mission
WIRE is an organization dedicated to providing a networking venue for women in the private equity real estate business. Our experience is that it can be difficult to make time to forge beneficial connections with the women we regularly interact with in our professional lives. WIRE was created to facilitate this essential building of strong networks among female professionals.
How is WIRE funded?
After much debate, a decision was made that WIRE should operate as an independent organization and not accept sponsorship to avoid any possibility of conflict. As a consequence, all WIRE events are paid for by each individual attendee, without any corporate funding. We keep costs down by asking establishments to donate venues for our networking events.
Where is WIRE located?
WIRE is headquartered in New York with chapters in London, Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco. Events are hosted in all of these regions as well as in other locations periodically.
